Hope Rides
For survivors of violence, the path towards a new life comes with challenges, including the need for safe and reliable transportation to get to court hearings, counseling, and doctors. A new program backed by Uber hopes to help with that challenge. The goal is to provide rides to survivors of domestic violence sexual assault and human trafficking. WGCU’s Jennifer Crawford speaks with Uber’s Senior Public Policy Associate Lizzie Pittinger about how the Alliance for Hope International, Casa Family Justice Center, and Uber have banded together as part of a national initiative. They call it Hope Rides.
